Background of Community S.T.A.M.P
S.T.A.M.P was launched in 2006 to reach out to youths-at-risk. It aims to deliver a comprehensive programme to aid students’ holistic development physically, academically and emotionally.
The Community S.T.A.M.P is conducted at Block 312 Jurong East Street 32 Activity Centre and the targeted participants would be Secondary School students within Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC). The programme consists of three components: Sports, Tuition and Mentoring.
Sports: To be confirmed
Tuition: A professional and experienced tutor would be hired to teach the students who are academically weak in their Mathematics. The extra session on top of their normal hours gives students a chance to practice more with extra guidance.
Mentoring: Every mentoring session, our group of trained mentors will hold fun and interesting activities to deliver good values and the right morals to the students. The training provides the mentors with the fundamental skills to conduct effective mentoring session with their mentees. This programme aims to develop student’s social-emotional domains through imparting positive morals and values.
Volunteers are needed across various schools within the Jurong GRC to befriend youths.
Paid training from Boys Town will be provided. There would be a curriculum for the mentors to fall back on and refer to.
